  • Germany and Spain book tickets to the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup 2020
  • Olga Camona’s goal against England proves enough for La Rojita
  • Germany thrash Belgium 5-0 to qualify for tenth successive U-20 world finals

Spain and Germany booked their tickets to the semi-finals of the UEFA Women’s Under-19 Championship Scotland 2019, therefore sealing their places at the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in 2020.

In the second matchday of Group B Spain first edged England 1-0 to confirm their place in the continental tournament’s last four. Olga Camona scored the winning goal in the 22nd minute for La Rojita, finishing off a cross sent in by Eva Navarro.

Spain reached the final of the last edition of the U-20 Women’s World Cup in France in 2018 and will be playing in their fourth U-20 Women’s World Cup next year.

Germany became the second team to secure their place at the U-20 Women’s World Cup next year as they thrashed Belgium 5-0 in Perth. Die Nationalelf won thanks to a brace from Nicole Anyomi and goals by Paulina Krumbiegel, Melissa Kossler and Lisa Ebert.

With the convincing win, Germany kept their run of qualifying for every U-20 Women’s World Cup intact. The three-time champions, along with fellow qualifiers Spain, will be a contender to lift the trophy next year.
